Product detailed description
The Chardonnay variety is a white grape variety. In Italy is grown in the following areas: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Lombardy, Marche, Molise Piedmont, Apulia, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Trentino Alto Adige, Umbria, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto. According to many, its origin has never been clear, according to some scholars it is of Middle Eastern origin, according to others it comes from a spontaneous cross between a pre-domesticated vine and an Illyrian vine, so from the area that today corresponds to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania. The most accepted hypotheses claim that it is a grape variety originating from the French village of the same name, Chardonnay, in Burgundy. This must variety has medium-sized bunches, compact with a cylindrical-conical shape, sometimes with two not very prominent wings. This is a small variety that has a thin green-yellow skin.
From Chardonnay grapes are obtained still, sparkling or sparkling wines with high alcohol content and good acidity. To the eye, the wine has a straw yellow color that is not particularly rich; the aroma is characteristic, soft and fruity (especially tropical fruits, pineapple and banana) and on the palate it expresses a pleasant freshness and taste. The notes of dried fruit will indicate the evolutionary path of the wine, which will be able to offer more harmonious taste and smell sensations.
