La Chiara

La Chiara is the story of a family and their vineyards in the countryside around the town of Gavi in the Piedmont region. The Bergaglio family, who, thanks to their long-standing agricultural traditions, played a key role in the birth and success of Gavi, have been producing this great white wine in Piedmont for three generations. It all started with the great vision and passion of Ferdinando Bergaglio and his son Roberto, who recognized the winemaking potential of this land. After a lifetime of work in the historic local company, Ferdinando decided to embark on a new adventure in 1976, together with his newly married son Roberto and daughter-in-law Silvana, and founded the family business La Chiara. Today, the business is spread over a vast area, entirely in the municipality of Gavi, with 28 hectares of vineyards cultivated with pride, passion and traditional methods. The Bergaglio family has always been inextricably linked to the Gavi area and its winemaking traditions. For three generations, their name has been synonymous with quality, experience and harmony. The atmosphere you feel immediately upon arrival at the farm. A family business whose success lies in these roots, with a fourth generation of exceptionally young future entrepreneurs ready to take on the challenges of the third millennium. Azienda Agricola La Chiara rises a few kilometres from the centre of Gavi, on the hills of the Ligurian Preappennino. It was founded by Ferdinando Bergaglio, born in 1912 into a farming family, and his son Roberto. Over the years, La Chiara has diversified its range, thus broadening the offer for its customers. The “Gavi DOCG del Comune di Gavi” wines are the company's crowning glory and are the most exported. The market that the company covers currently extends from local to international markets: Japan, the USA and Russia are just some of the countries where La Chiara wines are appreciated. The company also produces sparkling wines, red wines typical of the Monferrato area, Grappa and Passito.
