Cacciagrande

Cacciagrande, my dream come true
I was twenty-two when I decided what I wanted to do when I grew up: on one side was university and my passion for literature, on the other side was my father Massimo's farm, his dream that he managed to turn into reality. Between these two paths, I chose a third, which was mine: I decided to produce wine with my own brand that reflected my character and my way of working the land. And so in 1997 Cacciagrande was born.

The Castiglione area
At that time, the Castiglione area did not have a strong winemaking tradition, despite the fact that the terroir had enormous potential: the proximity of the sea, the presence of Mediterranean scrub, the dry mistral wind, the minerality of the soil presented obvious similarities with Bolgheri, which had already made it onto the world stage.

Intuition
An intuition that proved to be as fortunate as in the planting of Viognier, the characteristic white wine of the Lower Rhône, and Bordeaux Petit Verdot: vineyards of the highest quality, which, however, have yet to conquer the hearts of the demanding Made in Tuscany public.

The wines were refined and with them our knowledge of the perfect territory for quality wines; and while Cacciagrande was making itself known, my family was growing, hand in hand with the company.

Sacrifice, enthusiasm and passion
In 2005, the work on the new cellar and the adjacent building were completed, where I went to live with my wife Elena and our children; in 2007 we opened the shop in Castiglione della Pescaia; In 2014, the new tasting room was born, designed to offer visitors an irreplaceable experience on site, and in 2020 the new and largest wine cellar

When I look back, I see 30 years of work, sacrifice, passion; When I look ahead, I still see dozens of pages to write, with the same enthusiasm that accompanies me to this day. Because Cacciagrande is part of me.

A vocation of the territory, a passion of the family
The Maremma area, with its warm and dry climate, fits perfectly into the patient approach of a proud family business: from agronomic management to bottling, harvesting and long maceration at controlled temperatures, all phases are taken care of with care, love for the land and respect for its time.

The Cacciagrande winery is located among the Mediterranean hills of the Tuscan Maremma, just 10 km from Castiglion della Pescaia. Of its 40 hectares, 18 are planted with vineyards and 4 with olive groves; The rest of the estate blends into the wooded landscape that surrounds it, helping to maintain an organic balance that spills over into his wines.

The land changes every day. Making wine means studying it, supporting its development, and working to create something extraordinary.
